What is Wolverine?
Wolverine is a vendor coinage, not a single compound: suppliers use the name for a vial combining BPC-157 and TB-500. BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide derived from a protein found in human gastric juice; TB-500 is a synthetic peptide related to thymosin beta-4, an actin-binding protein. It is sold strictly as a research chemical, is not approved by the FDA or any other regulator for human use, and nothing here is medical advice.
Each component has its own preclinical literature, almost all of it rodent injury models and cell culture. The blend itself has no dedicated study base: nothing published characterises the combination or whether the two peptides interact, and human trials of it do not exist.
PeptidesFinder's role is narrower than the science. We track which vendors list Wolverine, normalise every listing to a price per milligram so vial sizes can be compared, and record whether a recent certificate of analysis is on file. The comparison below is re-checked on a schedule; confirm current pricing and the stated composition on the vendor's own site before ordering.

Mechanism of Action
The mechanisms below belong to the two components separately; none of the work was done on the blend. BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide whose sequence corresponds to a fragment of a protective protein identified in human gastric juice. Material sold as TB-500 is described by suppliers either as full-length thymosin beta-4, a 43-residue actin-binding protein, or as its shorter LKKTETQ actin-binding fragment — these are not the same molecule, which is one reason a certificate of analysis matters for a blended vial.
BPC-157: angiogenesis and the nitric oxide system. In rat tendon and muscle injury models, treated tissue shows increased expression of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2) and faster formation of new blood vessels around the injury. The same animal work reports interaction with the nitric oxide pathway, the peptide countering both NO-synthase inhibition (L-NAME) and NO over-production (L-arginine); the authors describe this as modulation rather than simple stimulation.
BPC-157: fibroblast and gastrointestinal signalling. In cultured rat tendon fibroblasts, BPC-157 has been reported to raise growth hormone receptor expression and to activate the FAK-paxillin pathway associated with cell migration and spreading. In the gastric and intestinal lesion models it was originally studied in, it is reported to help maintain mucosal integrity.
TB-500: actin sequestration and cell migration. Thymosin beta-4 binds monomeric G-actin through the LKKTETQ motif and regulates its availability for polymerisation. In cell culture this is associated with increased migration of endothelial cells and keratinocytes. This actin-handling role, rather than a classical receptor, is the mechanism most consistently attributed to the molecule.
TB-500: repair signalling in animal injury models. In a mouse myocardial infarction model, thymosin beta-4 was reported to activate integrin-linked kinase and Akt and to promote survival and migration of cardiac cells. Rat full-thickness dermal wound models and rodent corneal models report faster closure and reduced inflammatory signalling. These are animal findings about the parent protein, not about a supplier's blended vial.
Where human evidence sits. Full-length thymosin beta-4 has been taken into human clinical trials as an ophthalmic solution for dry eye and neurotrophic keratopathy — the closest genuine clinical context to either component, and it is a topical eye formulation of one defined molecule, not an injectable two-peptide blend. BPC-157 has essentially no controlled human trials, and nothing has been published on the two administered together.
None of this establishes safety or efficacy in humans. Neither component, nor the blend, is approved for any medical use.
